It is our hope that our campaigns for the peaceful use of space will result in outer space being open for all to explore and research for the good of humanity. The intention of the 1961 Outer Space Treaty was that outer space be given the same standing in the world as Antarctica, but the Treaty only prohibits the deployment of weapons of mass destruction in outer space.
The US plan for ‘missile defense’ is the start of their plan to dominate space militarily in the future. As well as destabilising here on earth, breaking the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and leading to the proliferation of nuclear weapons, the missile defense plan will involve other countries around the world in a plan that the US intends to use to “protect US interests and investments.” Most famously General Joseph Ashy, commander-in-chief of the U.S. space command has said: “It’s politically sensitive, but it’s going to happen. Some people don’t want to hear this, and it sure isn’t in vogue, but-absolutely-we’re going to fight in space. We’re going to fight from space and we’re going to fight into space.”
